SP enters poll mode; Mulayam to address party workers
Lucknow, Nov 20 (UNI) The ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh would hold a state-level seminar of party workers here, later this week to discuss poll strategy.
With the Chief Minister requesting the Election Commission to hold the assembly elections in the state in February, 2007, the seminar assumes importance. ''Of course we would discuss the poll strategy,'' claimed SP State Unit President Ram Sharan Das.
He said besides discussing poll strategy, the workers would also discuss the progress made in preparing election I cards and the electoral roll.
The November 25 meeting would also discuss the constant attacks on the ruling dispensation by Congress and the party's dismal performance in the just-concluded Mayoral Elections.
The SP leadership is also likely to discuss ways to increase the party's vote share in urban areas where it has a direct contest with the Bharatiya Janata Party, sources said.
Besides others, Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav would address the gathering to be organised at Lakshman Mela grounds here.
