Six candidates in fray for bypoll

Kozhikode, Nov 20 (UNI) Six candidates were left in fray for the Thiruvmabadi bypoll on December four, at the end of withdrawal of nominations today.

The candidates are Left Democratic Front's George M Thomas (CPI-M) and the United Democratic Front's V M Ummer (IUML), Gireesh Thevalli of the BJP, Ummer Master, V P Ummer and George Thomas Machhakkuzhil (all Independents).

The main fight in the bypoll, caused by the death of CPI (M) member Mathai Chacko, is likely to be between the candidates of the LDF and the UDF.
