Pay Commission urged to grant interim relief to pensioners

Jalandhar, Nov 20 (UNI) The Pensioners' Steering Committee, formed by various pensioners' associations, has urged the sixth Pay Commssion to grant immediate interim relief of Rs 1,000 per month to all the Central Government pensioners and employees.

All India Central Government Pensioners Association Northen Region general secretary and steering committee member, V S Jolly said here today that the demand had formally been sent to the Commission by the committee.

Now the steering committee would meet in Secunderabad on December 16 and 17 to finalise joint charter of demands for submission before the Commission.

Delegates from different parts of the country representing various pensioners associations, would participate in the meeting, he added.

The charter of the demands would be submitted before the Commission by December 31.

The Government has constitued the pay commission under the chairmanship of Justice BN Srikrishna.
