No differences with PPCC chief: Amarinder

Guru Harsahai, Ferozepur, Nov 20 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh today said he had no differences with Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Shamsher Singh Dullo.

Reacting to media reports about his reported differences with the PPCC chief on the candidatures for the coming assembly polls and other issues, he said,''We both are starting the second phase of Punjab Vikas Yatra from Amritsar on November 22.'' Capt Singh said the state government was taking up the issue of the release of pending compensation at the rate of Rs 2500 per acre to the farmers of the border areas with the Centre.

He further informed that the state government would also take up the case of the border area farmers to provide them the ownership rights who were already cultivating the government land in the border area.

Regarding the allotments of party tickets for the coming Assembly elections, he said the candidatures would be screened at different levels including the district Congress committee and the PPCC and finally the list would go to the All India Congresss Committee.

Capt Singh also expressed that he personally wanted that youth and women candidates should be given preference over the other categories.

Replying to a question regarding the recent transfers of Tehsildars and Naib-Tehsildars, Capt Singh said that he was aware of the issue and all the transfers would be scrutinised soon.

Earlier, Capt Singh along with PWD Minister Partap Singh Bajwa State Minster for Forest Hans Raj Josan and Dr Mohinder Kumar Rinwa, an MLA, attended a social function at the residence of Chief Parliament Secretary Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi.
