New BJP President blames AP govt on Volkswagen issue
Tirupati, Nov 20 (UNI) Newly elected state BJP President Bandaru Dattatreya today blamed the Andhra Pradesh government's 'incompetence and corruption' over Volkswagen, which was now going to set up its factory in another state.
Addressing a press conference, Mr Dattatreya, who paid his first visit to the temple town after taking charge as the state party President, charged Chief Minister Rajashekara Reddy and Marketing Minister Botsa Satyanarayana with being responsible for shifting the factory to other state and demanded a judicial probe into the affair.
He demanded the government to come out with open facts over the whole episode and the Chief Minister should explain to the people what action he had taken against the erring persons on the issue, which had led to the state incurring a loss of Rs 11 crore to the state.
He alleged that in the name of Special Economic Zones (SEZs), the government acted as a 'real estate agent' in acquiring farmers lands without any policies and norms on it.
