Miscreants damage idol of Bajrang, tension prevails

Jamshedpur, Nov 20 (UNI) Tension prevailed in the Birsanagar area today following desecration of a Hanuman idol by some indentified miscreants last night.

The miscreants damaged some parts of the idol, police said.

Hundreds of Bajrangdal and Akhara Samity members staged a road blockade in the area in protest against the incident. They also demanded immediate arrest of the culprits and threatened to launch a violent agitation if the culprits were not booked.

The blcokade was removed following assurances by the police officials.

A peace committee was also constituted to maintain communal harmony in the area.
