Electronic bikes draw crowd at IITF

New Delhi, Nov 20 (UNI) Electronic bikes, the look alikes of stylish Scooties, are drawing huge crowds at the Technology and Uttar Pradesh pavillions at the ongoing India International Trade (IITF) here.

Targeted at small towns and developed keeping in mind young students particularly girls, the bikes are environment-friendly and economical with extra security features, and are maintenance-free with permissible speed of 24 km/hr. In a single charge of four hours it runs for 80 km.

Moradabad-based KEV (India), one of the companies offering the bikes, has priced the vehicles at Rs 23,000 onwards.

Equipped with dry lid acid battery and 248 watt motor it does not need any registration. The comapny's vehicle also has a provision of pedalling like a bicycle.

KEV India has manufacturing unit in Moradabad with capacity of 100 units per day and has plans to have a network of dealers and service network soon.
