Defence Ministry team visits Punjab for university site
Patiala, Nov 20 (UNI) A six-member team led by ACIDS (Ops) Vice Admiral Vijay Shankar today visited various places at Patiala, Ropar and Fatehgarh districts to select the site for proposed defence University in Punjab.
The team visited three sites in Patiala district, including Sidhuwal village and one close to the Cantonment area in Patiala.
Patiala Additional Deputy Commissioner Gurkeerat Kirpal Singh and other senior officials of Punjab accompanied the team members who included Air Vice Marshal M S Randhawa, Jt Secretary (Training) in Defence Ministry Jatinder Singh and Brig Y M Sharma.
The Union government had announced a Defence University would be set up in Punjab.
