Cong petitions Governor on Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Trust

Jaipur, Nov 20 (UNI) The Congress Rajasthan unit today submitted a petition to Governor Pratibha Patil seeking permission to prosecute the Chief Minister and others under the Prevention of Corruption Act in connection with the land allotment to the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Memorial Trust.

Rajasthan Pradesh Congress President B D Kalla and Opposition leader Ram Narayan Chaudhary today evening met the Governor at her residence and handed over the petition.

The petition pointed out the irregularities in the allotment of prime land to a trust, headed by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje throwing to the wind all legal and procedural formalities. They accused the Chief Minister and other trustees of misuse of powers and sought permission from the governor to initiate legal proceedings agaisnt the them under the prevention of corruption Act and relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code.
