Chinese Prez arrives, visit to add strength to bilateral ties

New Delhi, Nov 20 (UNI) Chinese President Hu Jintao arrived here this evening on a four-day State visit, reflecting the warmth in Sino-Indian ties that have been ''difficult'' in the past.

He was received at the Air Force Station by External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee.

The Chinese President, who is on his maiden State visit to India, arrived from Vientiane after a two-day state visit to Laos.

Earlier, he had attended the 14th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting on November 17-19 in Hanoi.

President Hu will fly to Pakistan from here on a three-day visit from November 23 to 26.

The visit to India, at the invitation of President A P J Abdul Kalam XXX Picking up Third Para of DI 38, External-Lead India-China.
