APUWJ urges govt for judicial probe in Press Academy irregularites
Hyderabad, Nov 20 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ) requested the state government to conduct a judicial probe by a sitting Judge of High Court into the alleged irregularities, misuse of funds, authority and using offcial machinery of Press Academy of Andhra Pradesh for 'personal purposes'.
According to a statement today, an APUWJ delegation met Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhaa Reddy and explained the functioning of Press Academy and the ''dictatorial attitude'' towards journalists by its Chairman. The delegation further explained the recent happenings in the Union, ''undemocratic attitude of three persons caused unhealthy atmosphere and tarnishing the image of the Union by misusing the Press Academy as a cover.''
