Itanagar, Nov 20: Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President Omen Moyong Deori has expelled Laeta Umbrey, former MP, the party, for six years.

Umbrey was expelled due to his breach of party discipline as he filed nomination against the party nominated candidate Dature Miuli for the December 4 Roing bypolls.

Mr Umbrey had filed nominations as Independent candidate after being denied party tickets, party sources said.

Altogether three candidates were in the fray, including BJP nominee Raje Menjo, sources said.

The bypoll was necessitated following the resignation of sitting MLA Mukut Mithi, who was appointed as Puducherry Lt Governor recently.
