AP to computerise data on ration cards
Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, Nov 20 (UNI) Data on ration cards would be computerised by January 2007, Andhra Pradesh Civil Supplies Commissioner Banwarlal said today.
Reviewing the public distribution system Mr Banwarlal said so far in East Godavari district 14,46,774 cards were issued out of which 2,43,653 were pink cards and 11,17,410 were white cards, and 82,702 Antiyodhaya cards and 2,949 Annapurna cards. New cards would be issued from January one and if there was any corrections in the cards it would be rectified through MRO offices, he added.
Mr Banwarlal said there was no shortage of gas in the district.
In a meeting with millers, he said they were ready to export 7,17,000 tonnes of paddy and two lakh tonnes of boiled rice.
