Aircraft develops technical snag in mid-air, returns
Chennai, Nov 20: A Kolkata bound aircraft of SpiceJet returned to the domestic airport here last night after it developed a technical snag in one of the engines in mid-air.
Airport sources said the aircraft with 189 passengers on board left the airport at 2045 hrs yesterday.
After flying for two hours, the pilot noticed a technical snag in one of the engines. He immediately contacted the airport traffic control room at the airport here and sought permission for emergency landing.
All necessary arrangements were made at the airport for emergency landing.
The flight landed at the airport at 2245 hrs.
Of the 189 passengers, 32 were refunded and the remaining left for Kolkata in the same flight at 0230 hrs early today after the snag was repaired, sources added.
