1,653 poor people are given land in phase 3

Tirupati, Nov 20 (UNI) About 295 acres of land has been distributed to 1,653 landless poor people of SC, ST, BC and minorities during the third phase in Tirupati Revenue Division today.

The land title-deeds, pattador pass books, land maps and assistance for land development were given to beneficiaries by Tirupati MLA Venkataramana and Satyavedu MLA Narayana Swamy. The land was registered only in the name of woman in the beneficiary family.

Speaking on the occasion, Joint-Collector Rajendhra Prasad said 3,985 acres of land was distributed to 3,497 land less poor persons under the scheme in the first, second and third phases here.

About 8,560 acres of land was distributed to the land less poor people against the target 7,300 acres in Chittoor district, he added.
