When love's labour was not lost!

Karimnagar, Andhra Pradesh, Nov 19 (UNI) Police forced a youth to marry the girl whom he had cheated, atop a 50 ft high water tank after the girl threatened to jump from there, following a three-hour drama today.

Srinu of Godavari Khani in this district cheated Sandhya stating he loved her. When Ms Sandhya realised that she was taken for a ride, she climbed on to the 50 ft high water tank and threatened to end her life by jumping from the top if Srinu did not marry her.

Hundreds of people gathered at the spot and urged Ms Sandhya not to resort to such an extreme step.

Meanwhile, police who rushed there, sent a mobile phone through a young boy to get in touch with Ms Sandhya. They asked her to give them Srinu's address and mobile number. She wrote his address and mobile number on a slip of paper and sent it to the police with the boy.

Police immediately sent a party to fetch the boy, who finally agreed to marry the girl.

Later, locals congratulated the couple, particularly the valiant girl. They were also showered with gifts.
