TVS Electronics launches printers for Indian languages
New Delhi, Nov 19 (UNI) Computer peripherals manufacturer TVS Electronics has launched MSP printers with an in-built Unicode support for nine Indian languages.
The printers -- MSP 450 Champion and MSP 455 XLC -- are compatible with Devnagari, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Gujrati, Malayalam, Oriya, Bengali and Punjabi and are focused on the government departments which require multi-lingual printing.
''We feel that it is a strategic move for us to ensure that we leverage the growth in language applications with our basket of language solutions. With the launch of the MSP printers, the company expects to add additional five per cent to its market share in the dot matrix printer segment,'' company Marketing Head S Narendran said.
Available across the country, the MSP 450 Champion and MSP 455 XLC models are priced at Rs 10,000 and Rs 13,000 respectively.
''The printers are available in both 80 column and 136 column printing to meet the various customer needs. These models also have a speed capability of 360 cps (characters per second) and 400 cps, with an ability to print at 250 cps in Indian languages,'' a statement said.
Part of the 90-year-old TVS Group, TVS Electronics has a market share of 43 per cent in the dot matrix printer segment. It has manufacturing facilities in Tumkur, Chennai and Himachal Pradesh.
