Time-bound plans necessary for devp: NE CMs

Aizawl, Nov 19: The Chief Ministers of North Eastern states has uninamously urged the centre to prepare a time-bound plan for overall socio-economic development of the NE states.

Referring to the recent NEC meeting at Delhi last week, Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga said there is an urgent need to trap the potentials of these states including natural resources and manpower.

He said a plan should be prepared for optimum utilization of the natural resources available in NE States for various developments.

Mr Zoramthanga further said the funds allocated by the Centre should be distributed equally among the NE states.

Expressing serious concern over insurgency, he emphasised on persuading Bangladesh Government to take stringent actions against extremists by closing down their camps, freezing their bank accounts and handing them over to the Centre.
