Talent search in NE for global bid
Aizawl, Nov 19 (UNI) The Bangalore-based Bandtonga Music Solutions Pvt Ltd has expressed willingness to explore the music talents of Northeastern states.
Talking to newsmen, Bandtonga sourcing director John Daniel said here today that they want to sell as many Indian original music as possible to big media houses in the United States and UK.
Bandtonga has made a deal with about 50 bands and a few composers in India and five CDs of Naga musicians have been sold in the UK recently, which encouraged them to research music talent in the region, he stated.
The music are sold to mobile phone companies for ringtones, radio and television stations for contents and channel imaging, media houses for documentaries and movies, video game companies for background music and advertising agencies for jingles.
"Thirty-five percent of the revenue from each music goes to the composer while the copyright also goes back to the composer once the music is sold", Daniel pointed out.
Since the western people have been fed up with westerm music and are looking for something unique, Mizo traditional music would sell better than those adapted western music, he added.
