Student falls to death in Saputara

Surat, Nov 19 (UNI) A student of Vir Narmad University fell down from the Gira waterfalls in Saputara and died, sources said here today.

According to family sources, the deceased, Ankit Shroff and his seven university friends were on a picnic tour to Saputara. During their visit to the Gira waterfalls yesterday, he accidentally fell down in the river, 100 feet below.

Every effort to save him failed and his body was recovered late in the evening, sources added.

Ankit was the only son of Rishikesh Shroff, a computer teacher in Adajan area in the city.

His body was brought to Surat yesterday night, sources said.
