Six CRPF Personnel injured in attack

Imphal, Nov 19 (UNI) Six personnel of CRPF were injured in an ambush by suspected militants at Nambol Thongkha, Bishenpur district this evening.

Police said the CRPF personnel of the 22nd Battalion were moving towards Imphal when the suspected militants fired at the personnel.

There were exchange of fire and it was immediately not known if any militant was injured, they said.

All the injured were rushed to Imphal hospital for treatment.

Senior CRPF and police personnel rushed into the spot to inquire into the incident.

Meanwhile, troops of 19 Assam Rifles apprehended a cadre of Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) from Keibi, Imphal East. The cadre was identified as SS Cpl GB Thoiba 30. He was handed over to Lamlai PS yesterday, an Assam Rifles spokesman said today.
