SBI appoints Shahabuddin as Mutual Fund MD, CEO

New Delhi, Nov 19 (UNI) State Bank of India (SBI) has appointed Mr Syed Shahabuddin as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of SBI Mutual Fund.

Apart from bringing in expertise of a generalist banker to SBI Mutual Fund, Mr Shahabuddin will also bring with him an effective people management skills.

He has over 35 years of experience in the banking sector and started his career with SBI as probationary officer in 1971 and has held various positions in the bank.

In November 2004, he was again posted at the Corporate Centre to head SBI's Technology Department as Chief General Manager (IT).

SBI Mutual Fund has a large network over 36 collection branches, 26 Investor Service Centers, 28 Investor Service Desks and 42 District Organisers covering over 100 centers.
