Sania creates marathon singing record

Khandwa, MP, Nov 19 (UNI) Six-year-old Sania Syed has created a record by singing continuously for 64 hours breaking a recent record set by Indore-resident Akanksha who sang for 61 hours at a stretch.

Bhikangaon-resident Sania began singing at 2100 hrs on November 15 with 'Ganesh Vandana' at open ground in Tapdia garden here.

Undeterred by cold winds in the night, Sania continued to sing melodious songs till 1330 hrs yesterday.

In her journey to creating the record, she sang around 745 songs, including devotional and film songs.

When Sania equaled Akanksha's record at 1045 hrs, hundreds of people present in the ground applauded her.

Sania said her enthusiasm had not cooled down despite singing for 64 hours and she had the capacity to sing more. Her strong desire to do something different helped her create the record.

Programme organiser Sargam Orchestra's Pradeep Jain said instrumentalists had also created a record by constantly playing for Sania.
