Railways to install close circuit cameras in sensitive station
Vadodara, Nov 19 (UNI) The Railway Ministry has decided to install close circuit cameras at all major and crowded railway stations in sensitive states across the country in view of the recent serial bomb blasts in Mumbai's suburban trains.
Besides Maharashtra, the Ministry has identified other states like Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar and Assam as ''risky'' as far as possible the terror attack is concerned.
According to Minister of State for Railways Naran Rathwa, besides tightening the security at all major railway stations in these states, steps have been initiated to instal close circuit cameras to keep a close watch on the movement of passengers at the railway stations and other metros.
The move was found to be very effective now in Mumbai suburban stations, the Minister told newsmen after inaugurating a newly constructed platform No 6 here this evening. In Gujarat, two most crowded railways stations -- Ahmedabad and Surat -- would be provided with such close circuit cameras soon, he added.
