Sealing: Over 16,000 traders file undertakings
New Delhi, Nov 19: A total of 16313 traders who filed affidavits in the Supreme Court to close down their units by June 30 and whose shops fall under the areas notified as commercial or mixed use areas under the September 15 Delhi government notification have submitted undertakings before the Monitoring Committee that they have stopped the misuse in their premises.
An MCD spokesperson said the corporation received a total number of 16,313 affidavits/undertakings relating to stoppage of misusers till 1700 hours today.
The maximun number of affidavits/undertakings were filed in West Zone (3650) followed by Najafgarh (2258).
The owners/occupiers of the premises who had submitted affidavits to stop the misuse of their premises by June 30 were required to intimate in writing on plain paper to the Monitoring Committee of the Supreme Court of India that they have stopped the misuse of their properties.
The intimation had to contain relevant details relating to ownership and location of property. Such owners/occupiers were not required to file an affidavit to this effect.
To facilitate traders to file intimations before the Monitoring committee, the offices of the DCs of the respective zones remained open today, despite being a Sunday.
