NeST inks pact with Microvision

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 19 (UNI) Network Systems and Technologies Private Limited (NeST), a subsidiary of the 200 million US Dollars NeST group, has entered into an agreement with Microvision, the global leader in light scanning technologies for display and imaging products and for establishing an offshore development centre initially for the engineering design and development of the company's laser barcode scanner product.

Under the agreement, the NeST engnieering team would work as an extension of the Microvision product development team in Redmond, Washington on product enhancements and cost reduction.

"We believe that the NeST offshore development centre will enable us to achieve several important goals consistent with our business strategy," Engineering Vice-President Sid Madhavan said.

"The NeST software, electronics and mechanical teams will complement our engineering teams to enable round-the-clock development on our barcode scanner and future products," he added.

N Jehangir, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the NeST Group said that NeST's capabilities coupled with process orientation and six Sigma culture would help Microvision attain reduced time to market at an optimal cost.
