Implementation of Shunglu Committee suggestions on top priority
Bhopal, Nov 19 (UNI) The Narmada Development Authority (NVDA) today said the recommendations of the Shunglu Committee have been taken up on top priority.
''Directives were issued to officers to implement the within time limit,'' NVDA Vice-Chairman Uday Kumar Verma said, adding that pace of grievance redressal had been sped up and 2,898 out of 4,000 grievances redress authority (GRA) were taken care of.
He said rehabilitation plan up to full reservoir level 138.68 metres had been made and implemented.
Besides, Sardar Sarovar-affected farmers had purchased 4,505.578 hectare agriculture land in place of 1,618.722 hectare land they had to loose due to submergence, an official release said here today.
These 2,067 farmers were among 3,980 farmers, who were eligible for land in lieu of land but opted to take special rehabilitation package (SRP) of the state government.
An amount of Rs 435.91 crore was disbursed as compensation for 24,421 families affected by raising dam height to 121.92 metres.
Mr Verma said most affected families had shifted to rehabilitation sites.
A shifting plan had been chalked out in coordination with district administration, to shift the affected families to their respective rehabilitation sites.
