Garbage Processing Plant being set up in city
Chandigarh, Nov 19 (UNI) The Chandigarh Administration is in the process of setting up a Rs 12 Crore garbage processing plant, a unique solid waste management project, the first of its kind in the country.
This was stated by Chandigarh administrator General S F Rodrigues to a delegation of North Goa Zila Panchayat which called on him here last evening.
The 22-member delegation, led by Mr Kishore Vithel Narvekar, discussed various issues of socio-economic development with focus on solid waste management and strategies for improving the civic life in the Union Territory.
This Group is on study tour of the North and will identify the scope of replicating the model of development of Chandigarh in Goa.
While interacting with the delegation, Gen Rodrigues gave a detailed account of the road map set out by the Chandigarh administration for strengthening the social infrastructure and improving the delivery service systems to the citizens through a responsive and accountable system of Governance.
