CSI convention on affordable computing
Kolkata, Nov 19 (UNI) With a theme for affordable computing for the masses, Computer Society of India, the oldest and largest body of IT professionals in the country, will organise its national convention here from November 23 and 25.
West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee will inaugurate the convention, which is likely to be attended by more than 1,000 delegates from all over the country while captains of cross sections of industries will speak on the occasion.
''We are trying to reach to the common people, even in the rural areas, computers at affordable price. The papers to be submitted in the convention and an exhibition to be organised will highlight varioius ongoing projects in the country, trying to offer computers at much cheaper rates,'' Organising Committee Chairman Rabindranath Lahiri said yesterday.
The convention will comprise six Plenary sessions while there will be a CIO/CTO meet to discuss future directions in various organisations, a panel discussion on affordable computing and invited lectures on different aspectes of computer science and technology, information technology, communications and allied dsciplines. In all these sessions, eminent speakers from all over the country will be present, Mr.Lahiri said.
