Cops recover body of abducted engineer, accused arrested

Chitrakoot/Allahabad, Nov 19 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh Police today recovered the body of abducted engineer Neeraj Agarwal in Chitrakoot district.

Police said, Neeraj -- son of Rajkumar Agarwal was abducted on November 11, while he was on way to his residence in Allahabad from Jasra. Later, the kidnappers demanded Rs 10 lakh as ransom.

According to Neeraj's relatives, the kidnappers demanded Rs 25 lakh as ransom. They went to the scheduled place with the ransom money several times but no one was found there.

Meanwhile, autopsy report said that Neeraj was killed two days ago.

Later, a report from Allahabad said the Special Task Force and District Police, in a joint operation have arrested the three kidnappers of Neeraj today in Teliyarganj area of the district.

Besides, a vehicle used in the crime, a cell phone, two Sim cards, a driving licence and some photographs of Neeraj were recovered from their possession. The driver of the vehicle was also nabbed.

Senior Superintendent of Police C D Palson told newspersons here today that, the accused were identified as Arvind Pandey alias Babloo, Lavlesh Patel and Shiv Murat Tiwari.

Acting on information obtained from Lavlesh, cops recovered Neeraj's body from a den in Chitrakoot, he added.

The abductors had brutally murdered Neeraj on November 15 in the jungle of Hanumanganj village under Raipura police station area in Chitrakoot district.

Meanwhile, hunt was on to nab their accomplices.
