CII to organise mini-marathon on World Disabled day

Tiruchirapalli, Nov 19 (UNI) The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Tiruchirapalli zone, will organise a ''Tiruchi mini-marathon 2006'' on December 3, World Disabled Day, here.

The objective is to create awareness among the public on AIDS, highlight the significance of fitness and build the image of Tiruchirapalli as a city of unity and integrity.

Mr B V Ramanan, Chairman of the Tiruchi zone of CII, told UNI senior government officials, prominent sports personalities, businessmen, stars and the public at large would mingle freely with the common people to sweat it out for a cause. The CII would expand this impact beyond the runners and the cheering public in and around the city with a charity programme to raise money for noteworthy causes.

The marathon would be flagged off from two points in the city.

All participants would be given a certificate of participation, he added.
