Two naxals arrested following police encounter
Bhopal, Nov 18 (UNI) Two naxals were arrested following a police encounter at a forest near Aranpur in Chhattisgarh's Dantewara district, police said today.
''On a tip-off that two dozen naxals were putting t up at a camp in Kigmodi forest, police cordoned off the area,'' Sub-Divisional Officer of Police Vijay Pandey said.
During the encounter, firing took place and 200 rounds were fired from both sides forcing the ultras to escape.
Area commander Hunga and another ultra Bodikosa were arrested and naxal literature, cartridges and other materials were seized.
It was suspected that 4-5 naxals were killed during the encounter. However, there was no evidence in this regard.
