Train kills tusker in North Bengal

Siliguri, Nov 18 (UNI) An adult tusker was killed when a local passenger train ran over the wild pachyderm at Mongpoong forest range, some 30 kms north of this town, this evening, official sources said.

The passenger train of of Siliguri-Alipurduar route of Northeast Frontier Railway mowed down over the full size tusker when the animal came over the track in deep jungle.

This was second tusker killed in rail accident since last Sunday when a similar mishap occured in Dooars.
