Tamil Nadu 296/6; Maharashtra all out 193

Jamshedpur, Nov 18 (UNI) Tamil Nadu scored a comfortable 296/6 against Uttar Pradesh while Punjab were 35/2 in reply to Maharashtra's 193 all out on the opening day of their three-day Cooch Behar trophy (under-19) Elite group A matches here today.

Tamil Nadu won the toss and decided to bat on Keenan's bastman-friendly pitch as both the openers L Surya Prakash and Abhinav Mukund gave a good start scoring 34 runs each. But down the order N Enistein was the top scorer for Tamil Nadu with a fine 67 runs with five boundaries and J G Subash also hit half century (62) hittng nine times to the fence.

Mohammahd Khalid scalped three wickets off 50 runs while B K Singh bagged a brace sparing 87 runs.

At stumps K M Sanjeev and V Yomangesh were batting with 16 and nought respectively.
