Sarpanch stripped of post for violating two-child code

Sriganganagar, Nov 18 (UNI) A sarpanch in Ganganagar district has been stripped of his coveted post after he was blessed with a third child, violating the two-child norm for the state panchayat members.

Sarpanch Subhash Bishnoi of Rohirawali village had to forgo his post as the departmental inquiry found the complaint lodged against him to be true.

Bhup Singh, whom Bishnoi had defeated in Sarpanch elections, had lodged a complaint that Bishnoi's third child was born on November 3, 2001.

The investigations against the complaint was conducted by Divisional Commissioner, who sent the report to the state government.

The Village Development and Panchayti Raj department principal secretary Khemraj Choudhary terminated Bishnoi's term and declared him unfit for fighting elections.
