OTA team to visit Egyptian Military Academy

Chennai, Nov 18 (UNI) A team of one officer and two Gentlemen cadets from the Officers Training Academy (OTA) here will visit Egyptian Military Academy (EMA), Cario, as part of an exchange programme.

The three-member OTA team, comprising Capt Arun Varughese and cadets, Rajesh Kumar and Hrishikesh Mohan Patil, would leave for New Delhi tomorrow from where they would leave for Egypt via Dubai on November 25. They would return to India on December two.

A spokesperson of the OTA told UNI here today that similarly, a team from the EMA would also visit OTA in the next couple of months as part of the exchange programme, which was aimed at furthering professional development of the participants through close interaction with their counterparts and exposing each other to the high standards of professionalism and shared values in terms of sense of duty and leadership common in both armies.

During the week long visit, the OTA team would get an opportunity to interact and exchange ideas with trainees and trainers of Egyptian Army.

The visit would also provide the participants a broader understanding of culture and ethos of Egyptian Army in particular and Egypt, in general.
