Metal prices ease on poor industrial demand
Mumbai, Nov 18 (UNI) Metal prices eased on poor industrial demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.
In the ferrous category, copper utensils crashed by Rs 800 per quintal while copper heavy and aluminium utensils declined by Rs 300 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively on sustained heavy selling.
But, brass utensils and brass cuttings rose by Rs 300 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively on less stock supply.
In the non-ferrous section, copper wire bars eased by Rs 500 per quintal on increased offers by stockists. Tin slab fell by Rs five per kg on thin buying support.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 34,200, copper utensils - Rs 30,000, brass utensils - Rs 21,700, brass cuttings - Rs 25,200 and aluminium utensils - Rs 10,900.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 36,000, aluminium ingots - Rs 13,700, zinc slab - Rs 22,500, lead ingots - Rs 7,500, tin slab - Rs 575 (per kg) and nickel cathode - Rs 1,750 (per kg).
