Manipur preparing for PM's visit

Imphal, Nov 18: The Manipur government is preparing for the visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Officials said Manipur Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh had gone to New Delhi to discuss about the visit and returned yesterday.

The tentative visit of the Prime Minister has been fixed on November 27, officials said.

The Prime Minister would inaugurate the first flyover in Manipur the Bir Tikendrajit flyover, lay the foundation stone for Tipaimukh dam, Loktak downstream project, Cultural cum City convention Centre at Palace Compound, National Sports Academy at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex and conversion of Manipur Institute of Technology into a National Institute of Technology.

The Manipur government is also planning to organize a reception at the Kangla. The PM had handed over the Kangla to the people of Manipur in November 2004.
