Karnataka, AP win
Margao, Nov 18 (UNI) A fine bowling spell by off spinner S K Mahboob Basha (6 for 37) and J Koteshwar Rao (2 for 37) enabled Andhra Pradesh dismiss Hyderabad for a paltry 126 in second innings and to score 137-run victory and gain full four points on the last day of the three-day South Zone under-15 Polly Umrigar Trophy cricket tournament match here today.
In the second match, played at Shiroda in South Goa, favorites Karnataka scored 14-run win over Tamil Nadu and gained full points.
In the third match at MCC ground, host Goa today opened their account with 2 points by virtue of their first innings lead againat Kerala, when their third round match ended in a tame draw.
After the third round matches, Karnataka maintained their lead at the top of the table with 13 points, followed by Andhra Pradesh 8, Hyderabad 6, Tamil Nadu and Goa 2 each and Kerala yet to open their account.
Hyderabad, chasing a target of 263 runs for a win in their second innings, had managed to score 126 all out in 59.2 overs, except Sayyad Ali 30, Rahul run out 15 and Sandeep Gaud 17, no other batsman could make any significant contribution.
Earlier, Andhra Pradesh resumed at the overnight score of 81 for 2 and piled up 208 for 7 in 55 overs before declaring their second innings before lunch.
Karnataka, resuming their second innings at 78 for 4, were all out for 125 in 66.5 overs. Aushik Srinivas 4 for 34, Sarvan Kumar 3 for 36 and Vignesh Mohan 3 for 23 were most successful bolwers for Tamil Nadu.
Tamil Nadu, chasing a target of 161 runs for a win, failed to negotiate the attack of Karnatka's Bharat Kondaji (5 for 56) and Karun Nair (3 for 40) and were all out for 146 in 60.4 overs. Survan Kumar's 52 were laced with six fours and his 67-run partnership for 8th wicket with Ashish Kumar (15) gave some respectability to their total.
Goa resumed at the overnight score of 209 for 9 and were all out for the same score in 104.2 overs, in reply to Kerala's 198. It has gained a slender first innings lead of 11 runs.
Kerala, in their second innings,fell to the guiles of all-rounder Reagan Pinto (5 for 57) and managed to score 173 all out in 68.5 overs, with a fine contribution from Jetin Ramchandran 83 with 12 fours, Sadam Das 15 and R Rohit 31.
Goa, chasing a target of 162 for win, were struggling at 31 for 3 at the end of the 9th mandatory overs when captains of both the teams agreed for a draw.
