IOCL clinch 27th PSPB Inter-unit golf title

Greater Noida, Nov 18 (UNI) Gagan Verma led from front as IOCL 'A' broke a 26-year-old jinx to lift the 27th edition of the PSPB Inter-Unit Golf Tournament here today.

Gagan Verma added a four-under 68 to his overnight 67 to help his team clinch the title for the first time. He was ably supported by two of the best lady amateurs Vasihavi Sinha and Irina Brar along with upcoming youngsters Karan Vasudeva and Shaurya Singh.

IOCL 'A' overcame a star-studded and hosts Oil India'A' Limited which boasted of Asian Games team members Gaganjeet Bhullar, Chirag Kumar and Joseph Chakola.

Oil India 'A' finished third with their second string emerging as the runners-up. The star from OIL India 'B' was young Rahul Bakshi who fired a 4-under 68 while former India team mate Manav Das contributed a three-under 69.

IOCL 'A' finished with a two-day total of 419, where three best scores were counted to form the day's total and like wise the two-day total was the team's aggregate. Oil India B' totaled 425 while OIL India A' aggregated 426.

Gagan Verma also won the 'Individual Best' score for two days with cards of 67 and 68. Chiragh Kumar finished second with 68 and 60.
