Ex-serviceman murders wife

Hubli, Nov 18 (UNI) An ex-serviceman allegedly murdered his wife when she refused to part with money at Navalgund town in Dharwad district of Karnataka today.

According to police, Ahmed Basir Bagali hit his wife Imambi (35) with an iron rod and fled the scene, stating that he would go to police station.

Mr Bagali had got Rs four lakh as retirement benefits from the Army, of which he had deposited Rs 50,000 in his children's name.

After spending the rest of the money, he started demanding the deposited money and when his wife refused to draw the amount, he murdered her.
