Doordarshan is the best TV channel, says Kiran Kumar

Jalandhar, Nov 18 (UNI) Noted cine and TV actor Kiran Kumar has hailed the role of Doordarshan as public broadcaster, describing it as the best TV channel in the country.

Talking to mediapersons at DD Jalandhar Kendra here, he said Doordarshan with the largest reach to people had been doing a commendable work for the national cause.

He said he would suggest fellow junior artistes to do at least one serial with DD for getting proper exposure and nationwide acknowledgement.

Recalling his acting career, he said it was a serial on Doordarshan which shot him into the limelight with the first national award.

Kumar is here to participate in the 6th DD Annual Award presentation ceremony being held today.

Jalandhar holds a special place in my heart as this beautiful city happens to be the native place of my mother-in-law'', he said.
