DIG appears in witness box against Shahabuddin

Siwan, Nov 18 (UNI) Deputy Inspector General, Saran range, S.K. Singhal today told a court that an attempt was made on his life at the instruction of Md Shahabuddin (MP) when he was the Superintendent of police of Siwan in 1996.

While deposing before the special court of Additional district judge Gangeshwar Srivastav in connection with the shooting incident, Mr Singhal said the firing was made at him by the henchmen of Md Shahabuddin, who was currently lodged in Siwan jail.

Mr Singhal told the court that he had made the MP and two of his bodyguards and five unknown persons accused in this case lodged at Darauli police station.
