DD to strengthen network in J

Jalandhar, Nov 18 (UNI) Doordarshan will expand and strengthen its network in bordering state of Jammu and Kashmir and North Eastern region.

DD Director General Liladhar Mandloi told UNI here today that the extension programme included inclusion of uncovered areas in the network and strengthening of DTH tranmission facilities in these border areas.

Mr Mandloi said a lot of work would be done during the eleventh plan for making DD a competent global channel.

He said complete digitalisation of the network is also being done for improving efficiency and quality of transmission.

He said that presently Doordarshan programmes are reaching 154 million viewers through 57 programme relay stations and around 1,400 transmitters in the country.
