Curfew imposed in Solapur

Solapur, Nov 18 (UNI) Curfew has been imposed from 0800 hrs to 2000 hs here today, following continued violent protests over the killings of four dalits at Khairlanji in Vidarbha district.

Solapur police commissioner Ashok Kamthe imposed the curfew this morning and would review the situation in the evening, police said.

The city has been witnessing riots for the past four days in which five policemen and several others have been injured. Last evening, Dalit groups torched a bus and pelted stones at shops, police added.
