Bjorkman-Mirnyi master Paes-Damm in semi-final

Shanghai, Nov 18 (UNI) It was heartbreak for sixth seeds Leander Paes and Martin Damm who crashed out of the season ending Tennis Masters cup, going down 7-6 (4), 6-7(4), 6-7 (5) to second seeds Jonas Bjorkman of Sweden and Max Mirnyi of Ukraine in an edge-of-the-seat semi-final here today.

Bjorkman and Mirnyi now take on Bahamian Mark Knowles and Canada's Daniel Nestor in the final, who defeated Australian Paul Hanley and Zimbabwe's Kevin Ullyett 4-6 6-1 6-3 in the first semi-final.

The three-hour 17-minute long encounter saw many ups and downs and it was the Indo-Czech pair that took the lead after pocketing the first set in the tie-breaker.

However, the second seeds justified their billing taking the next two sets, also in tie-breakers make it to the finals.
