Assam defeated by Tripura in C K Naidu under 22

Agartala, Nov 18 (UNI) With the win of the three-day under 22 C K Naidu cricket match at the Politechnic ground near here, hosts Tripura got its clearance to play in the knock out easily.

On the penultimate day today the hosts defeated Assam by four wickets in 31 overs.

Earlier on Thursday, the touring team won the toss and decided to bat first scoring only 166 runs failing to face the hosts bowling attack. In reply, home team reached 232 runs and was leading by 66 runs in their first innings.

The visitors in their second innings managed to earn only 151 resuming overnight score at 137 runs conceding eight wickets. The last two wickets were lost quickly by Assam today adding only 14 runs.

The hosts in their second innings scored its necessary 86 winning runs losing six wickets to the visitors clearing its route to play in the knock out.
