Ashwamedh Yagna perforned to contain pollution

Kolkata, Nov 18: An Ashwamedh Yagna was performed at a fair ground near Salkia in Howrah district today in order to invoke the spirit to curb pollution.

Chief organiser K K Singhnia told UNI that they had used 1008 " Havan Kund" (Fire pith) to complete the yagna as it would help curb pollution.

The yagna was carried out after Calcutta High Court quashed a move made by the state Pollution Control Board to stop the yagna.

UNI
