AI signs agreement with Alteon

New Delhi, Nov 18 (UNI) Air India has signed an agreement with Alteon Training, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Boeing company.

Alteon will deliver a Boeing 737NG simulator to AI's facility in Mumbai. The agreement was signed by Capt P P Singh, chief operating officer at Air India Charters Ltd, and Ms Christina Bohl of Alteon.

The simulator will be used primarily to support the operations of AI Express. The new Boeing 737NG simulator is scheduled to arrive in Mumbai by the month-end and will be installed in AI operations building.

It will be certified by the end of January 2007. This will be followed by the Boeing 777 simulator which will be delivered in November 2007 while the Boeing 787 simulator will arrive in India early 2008.

AI has signed an agreement for 68 new Boeing jets which is the largest commercial airplane order in India's civil aviation history at a list price of nearly 11 billion dollars.
