US Marine sentenced to 21 months in Iraq death
CAMP PENDLETON, Calif., Nov 17 (Reuters) A US Marine who pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and conspiracy to obstruct justice in the shooting death of an Iraqi man near the town of Hamdania has been sentenced to 21 months in prison under a deal with prosecutors.
Lance Cpl. Tyler Jackson earlier this month became the third military defendant to plead guilty to charges stemming from the shooting death of 52-year-old Hashim Ibrahim Awad, a former Iraqi policeman, and will testify for the prosecution.
